urs Bollhalder was born on May 28 1981, in St. Gallen, Switzerland. He played the trumpet, piano and the guitar already at an early age. Being exposed to a vast amount of music of a very diverse stylistic heritage he was studying the rich tradition of classical music as well as jazz improvisation.
